Error Message - No GPS, Weak GPS, Incorrect Starting Location, Map Will Not Follow in Route
Root Cause - This can occur if the phone internal GPS sensor is not sending GPS data to our Scout app
Fix - The phone needs to be checked for various settings and reset to assist GPS function. If Scout app cannot verify GPS data our app will not work.
Trouble Shooting Steps - Android
1st - Check & verify Battery Life is 50% or more
2nd - Verify Location Settings are On / Enabled
Touch top of Screen and swipe down to display notification panel.
Find & Verify Location Icon is On / Enabled.
Additional Settings - Android OS 4.0
Select Device Settings icon, find & select Location, in here verify enabled and enable WiFi Location.
Additional Settings - Android OS 4.3, 4.4, 5.0
Select Device Settings Icon, find & select Location, select Mode and set to High Accuracy
Additional Settings - Samsung Galaxy S6 (OS 5.0)
Select Device Settings Icon, find & Select Privacy and Safety, Select Locating Method & then select GPS, Wi-Fi and Mobile networks.
Additional Settings Samsung Galaxy S8 / Note (OS 7.x)
Select Device Settings, find & select Connections, select Locations, select Locating Method, set to High Accuracy
3rd - Power Cycle Device
If possible remove battery or
Select Power button to select Power Off, wait 30 seconds and then select Power Button to turn device back on.
Now please retry to use the Scout application out in the open - clear view of sky
If the Issue persist please try next step
4th - Uninstall & Reinstall Scout Application
Touch top of Screen and swipe down to display notification panel.
Select Device Settings Icon, next find & select Application Manager, next find & select Scout application, next select UNINSTALL.
Please find & select Google Play, Search for Scout, You may have to select Scout 1 more time to select Install.
Once Scout app is installed please start app to install first time files & try to use Scout app out in the open clear view of the sky.
If the issue persist please try next step
5th - Install GPS Status and Toolbox
Please find & select Google Play, search for GPS Status and Toolbox, You may have to select GPS Status and Toolbox 1 more time to select Install.
Once GPS Status and Toolbox is installed please start GPS Status app to verify if internal GPS sensor can locate Satellites.
Scout app requires 4 or more satellites to work properly
If you are getting 0 - 3 satellites your device may have an issue with internal GPS Sensor, Telenav advises to check with your Cellular Carrier Support for Device issue.
