Our application is only supported to work with either headsets or vehicle head units which are A2DP compliant. A2DP stands for “Advanced Audio Distribution Profile”, which is a Bluetooth profile that allows for the wireless transmission of stereo audio from an A2DP source (typically a phone or computer) to an A2DP receiver (a set of Bluetooth headphones or stereo system).
Scout audio navigation connecting to a BT Headset or vehicle head unit requires either the device or hardware BT to support A2DP (this means the unit must support this audio profile because it’s how the audio files are transmitted from our Scout app). Please review the user manual to the designated device if you’re unsure whether your device is A2DP compliant.
Here is our basic trouble shooting you can try if you are not getting audio navigation from Scout to your BT Headset.
1. Uninstall Application
Android - Select settings - application manager - select Scout Select Uninstall
iPhone - select and hold till app wiggles and displays an x. select x and confirm deletion
2. Un-Pair Bluetooth From Device
Un-pair Bluetooth connection between the stereo/ or headset and device.
3. Reinstall Application
Android - select Google play, search for Scout. Once located select Scout and select Install
iPhone - select App Store, search for Scout. Once located select Scout and select Install or cloud icon
4. Re-pair Bluetooth Device
Please make sure the source on the stereo has been switched to Bluetooth Audio. Then, pair Bluetooth device to the car stereo, and test the audio.
We cannot test for every BT device available. Our basic info for supporting BT devices is to please make sure your BT headset is A2DP compliant. We can only allow the port to be available for audio distribution and do not control minimizing or controlling volume from other media sources.
