Issue - No GPS or Weak GPS , Incorrect Starting Location, Map Will Not Follow in Route
Root Cause - This can occur if the phone internal GPS sensor is not sending GPS data to our Scout GPS Link application
Fix - The phone needs to be checked for various settings and reset to assist GPS function.
Note - If Scout GPS Link app cannot verify GPS data from the device our app will not work.
Basic Trouble shooting - iPhone
1st - Verify Battery Life is 50% or more
2nd - Verify Location Settings are set to On & App Permission is set to Always
Select Device Settings Icon
Select Privacy
Select Location Services
In here verify Location Services is ON / Enabled
Next scroll down till you see Scout GPS Link app and select.
Verify set to always.
3rd - Hard Reset Device (Hard reset clears cache and makes device recheck GPS)
iPhone 6s , 6s Plus, 6, 6 Plus, 5
Hold down both Power button and home key till device shuts off.
30 Seconds later turn device back on (Newer iOS will automatically turn device back on)
iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus
- Step 1: Press and hold the Lock/Wake button on the right side of your iPhone.
- Step 2: At the same time, press and hold down the Volume Down button on the left side while keeping the Lock/Wake button pressed.
iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, iPhone X
- Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
- Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
- Press and hold the Side button (aka power) until you see the Apple logo.
Now please retry to use the Scout GPS Link application out in the open - clear view of sky
If the Issue persist please try next step
4th - Uninstall & Re-Install Scout GPS Link Application
Press down on Scout app icon till an X appears and starts wiggling. Then remove finger.
Press X on the Scout app and you will prompted 1 more time confirming deletion.
Next please select App Store – Search “Scout GPS Link”. Once found select Scout GPS Link app & select Install or Cloud icon.
After downloaded, Select / Start Scout app to install first time files & follow prompts.
Please try to use Scout GPS Link app out in the open clear view of the sky.
If the issue persist please try next step
5th - Install GPS Status (Pocket GPS)
Please find & select App store icon, search for GPS Status.
Select GPS status & select install or cloud icon.
Once installed start GPS Status app.
Good Fix or Excellent fix should allow our app to work properly.
If you are getting Poor Fix or Bad fix move to open area, however there may be an issue with internal GPS sensor.
If you are getting No Fix our app will not work.
Note - your device may have an issue with internal GPS Sensor, Telenav advises to check with your Cellular Carrier Support for Device issue.
