These instructions are only for 2018 & Newer Toyota vehicles that are equipped with a compatible Audio & Audio Plus multimedia system. Call the Toyota Brand Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331 for assistance to find out if your Toyota vehicle will accept a connection from the Scout GPS Link mobile app.
It is assumed that the vehicle owner is performing the steps. If you are a technician or other dealership representative, make sure that you allow the vehicle owner to step in when they need to create their Scout GPS Link account. Creating a personalized Scout GPS Link account will allow Liked & Recently used addresses to be available to the user.
Install Toyota App
Toyota's App must be installed first on specific 2018 & Newer Toyota vehicles. Scout GPS Link will not be able to connect to specific 2018 & newer Toyota vehicle without the Toyota App Installed. (2016 - 2017 Toyota Vehicles will not require the Toyota App, Please check with Toyota to verify what is truly supported on your 2018 & Newer Vehicle)

- Launch the Toyota App. If this is the first time you've installed the Toyota App, please follow the prompts to create a new account. Refer to Toyota's FAQs for more information and troubleshooting tips or call the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331.
Install the Scout GPS Link mobile app for Toyota / Lexus
This app is developed by Telenav Inc. in cooperation with Toyota Motor North America. It is designed to run on Google Android and Apple iOS smartphones that have an Internet connection provided by your wireless carrier as part of your smartphone data plan. Scout GPS Link will connect to suitably equipped 2018 & Newer Toyota vehicles. To install Scout GPS Link:
- Find Scout GPS Link on the Apple iTunes Store or the Google Play Store.

- Please accept all permission requests from Scout GPS Link and allow installation to finish.
- Launch Scout GPS Link on your smartphone.
If this is your first time using Scout GPS Link, please create a user account using a valid email address and a password that you can easily remember. We strongly advise against skipping account creation. If you tap Skip, Scout GPS Link will not save any Recents or Liked addresses to our servers. Recents and Liked addresses are convenience features and are not a backup to your phone's address book/contact list. While we do not guarantee against data loss, if you have to reinstall the app and you did not create a Scout GPS Link account, you will probably lose this data completely. So, please do not tap Skip.
To connect Scout GPS Link to your Toyota Audio Multimedia system in your vehicle, you must pair your smartphone with the vehicle and we recommend that you also connect your smartphone to the Toyota Audio Multimedia system with a USB cable. Features like the moving navigation map will not work without a USB cable to transfer data.
Scout GPS Link and USB Cable Connection
The USB cable connection is required to utilize the rich navigation experience with 3D moving maps.
Scout GPS Link can work with your Audio Multimedia system without a USB cable connection, however you will only get TurnStream Mode , which is turn by turn directions.
